- It’s quite interesting to note that the modern day stroller has passed through generations of innovations. Babies of old would be carried close to the body in the arms of their mothers or carer. On long distance travel, the baby would be place in a sling cloth or even in a cloth-lined straw basket carried over the back of an adult.
It’s just about the middle of the last century that baby carriages began to appear among the elites of those times. The carriages have wheels on a structured frame, plus a basket lined and padded for the comfort of the young children they carry.
